Media Used For PRopaganda
Media was used in a variety of ways to get propaganda across countries. They used the radio, movies, books, animations, magazines, newspapers, posters, and television. Some of these work more efficiently than other methods, but they all had some part in getting propaganda across the countries.
The radio would send out brief, simple messages by using a human voice as a broadcaster. These radio messages required little audience because information traveled quickly. Families would listen to the broadcasters and even have their children listen in, raising children to think this way about specific ideas that were being spread. the messages has more appeal to people over visuals because people could really have "better" information.
The television usually used broadcasts of speeches filmed over the country, so it was more effective to watchers to have audio and video. It got the information into their heads more efficiently, since they could recall speeches easier.
Movies would be used for different themes. Like some would make fun of specific rulers, like The Great Dictator. But others would actually try to get propaganda across countries.
Posters were probably the most popular methods of propaganda in media. They told the people different things like to join the army, find jobs, rationing, and hopeful messages. They were viewed by people of America and all participating countries n WWII.
Books could tell stories about what has happened, what is happening, and what could happen, and how to "prevent" it. One example would be Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf, or My Struggle.
Animations were like short shows that let the people know what was happening in other countries in the war, considering propaganda. Disney actually made one about the Nazis.
Newspapers & Magazines would recap speeches, and any other events going on in the war that people weren't aware of. Magazines would mostly feature pictures from these events.
Advantages of using propaganda in media were that it was a lot easier and faster for the information to be spread and they didn't have to organize a whole speech and everything, and it could bring people all around the country to be aware. Disadvantages were that the transmitters for the electronics used couldn't last too long, so they would be shorter, and that not everyone had a television or radio to hear all of these.
